i'm going to dinner with my girlfriend and then drinking wine and i hope to take a thousand good pictures and debate on whether or not i should trash my camera and get a new one that can take a quality picture without using the flash.

or if someone can tell me how to use my own camera, that would be baller too.

  1. hmm-- try increasing the aperture (how long the shutter stays open) so to allow more natural, non-flash lighting. Also check the speed that the picture is being taken at-- you know how manual film has a speed? I'm pretty sure that digital cameras have a corresponding feature that you can set in the menu options. This speed should be increased (I think especially in active settings).
Few things that a friend (photographer) told me while I was getting frustrated trying to take pictures and a busy, dark music venue.
What's it like in Denton during SxSW?

  2. speed is maxed out.

it used to take great pictures, and now not so much. maybe my hands aren't as steady as they used to be. getting shakey in my old age. so i've started looking and there are a couple i really like... le sigh... we shall see.

denton is so far from austin that it doesn't even matter.

but you did read about band legrand right? they were going to sxsw as well.

    good shit.

sorry about the camera, stab. I work with someone that swears by pentax (if that matters) and he takes incredible pictures.
